Dan: Hi Megumi!
Megumi: Hi! Please, no test today! I'm tired!
D: Oh don't worry, there's no test today so you're safe.
M: Oh great! I'm happy.
D: You could say "I'm relieved!"
M: Oh, OK. I'm relieved!
D: Very good. Anyway, why are you tired today?
M: Because yesterday I went to sho-pin-gu with my mother!
D: Sho - pin - gu? Where's that?! Is it far?
M: Far? No, just a few minutes by bus.
D: Really? I've never heard of it. I'd like to go.
M: Wow, you mean you never go to shoppingu? Maybe that's why you always have old clothes!
D: What?! How rude?!! Anyway I didn't say that...

テープスクリプト:

Dan: OK, Megumi, today I have a little surprise for you!
Megumi: Oh good, I love surprises! Is it a present?!
D: Er, no. It's a test!
M: [not happy] Oh. I hate surprises!
D: [laughing] OK, anyway, this is a pronunciation test so I want you to read this please. [Gives her a piece of paper]
M: OK, here goes! [reading from the test paper]
''Yesterday morning, before work, I took a little walk in the park because the weather was fine. I walked all around the lake and up and down the small hill. Then I noticed it was getting late, so I started to run. I didn't see the little dog and I tripped over it and fell down hard. My ankle hurt so much I thought I'd broken a bone. The dog's owner ran over and said sorry and asked me if I was OK; then she felt my foot and said, "it's OK, it's not broken!" I asked her if she was a doctor, but she said "No, I'm a vet!" Then she offered me a lift. Her car was full of animals so it was an interesting trip! When I told my colleagues what happened, they laughed! By 5 o'clock my ankle felt a lot better and I walked home ? slowly!''
D: Hmm, not bad. OK, now listen to me reading it and try to find your mistakes! [reads from sheet]

D: On butter?!! What?! Are you serious?!!
M: [a little scared] Er...yes...on...butter.
D: You put it on butter?! Wow, I don’t think I’d like to try that. It sounds way too unhealthy.
M: [disappointed] Oh, but it's very good! Really!
D: Yuck.
M: Oh and I like barbecue!
D: [happier] Well that sounds better! I love barbecues too!
M: Yes, actually last weekend I went to the park with my friends and we burned a lot of meat.
